Doctrinal Statement

A. We believe that Holy Scripture is inerrant, infallible and inspired by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) while written by men. D’varim (Deuteronomy) 32:44-47; Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:31-33; Tehillim (Psalms) 19:7-11; 2nd Timothy 3:14-17; 2nd Shimon (Peter) 1:20-21; Rev. 22:18-19

B. We believe that Holy Scriptures are made up of Torah (first five books of Moshe), Neviim (the Prophets), K’tuvim (the writings and poetical books), and the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant). These books comprise the TANACH, the whole of Scripture.

C. We believe in the watchword of Judaism, the Shma (to hear), “Hear O Yisrael, Adonai (L-rd) is our G-d, Adonai is echad (one)”. D’varim 6:4-9; Mark 12:28-31. The most important mitzvot (commandments) are to love

G-d, and love your neighbor as yourself. The word “Echad” speaks of the

unity and nature of G-d. He reveals Himself as a Father and Husband to

Yisrael. Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 54:5 and 64:7. Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the

Messiah) is the “Son of the living G-d” Mattityahu (Matthew) 16:16, “the

only begotten Son of G-d”. Bresheet (Genesis) 22; Yochanan (John) 3:16. By

His Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), creation of the world takes place, and we

are made a new creation empowered to live for Him. Bresheet 1:2;

Yechezkiel (Ezekiel) 36:26-27; 1^st Corinthians 6:11; 2^nd Corinthians 5:17

D. We believe that Yeshua HaMashiach is the Jewish Messiah. “Therefore, the L-rd Himself will give you a sign: the virgin shall be with child and will give birth to a Son, and will call Him Immanuel (G-d with us)”. Yeshayahu 7:14. We believe in His virgin birth conceived by the Ruach HaKodesh. We do not believe that a man can become G-d. “For a child is born to us, a Son is given to us, dominion will rest on his shoulders, and he will be given the name PELE-YOETZ, EL GIBBOR, AVI-AD SAR SHALOM (Wonderful Counselor, Mighty G-d, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace)Yeshayahu 9:6-7. “That in honor of HaShem (the Name), Yeshua took the form of humanity and that G-d has given Him the name above every name”. Philippians 2:6-11

E. We believe that Yeshua fulfills the Torah and the Neviim in His first coming as Mashiach ben Yosef (the son of Joseph), the suffering servant, who came to die on an execution stake in order to make atonement for all humanity, the perfect sacrifice. Yeshayahu 52:12-53:12; Tehillim 22:1-24. When He comes back the second time, He comes as Mashiach ben David (son of David), the reigning King. “and then Adonai will be King over the whole world” Z’kharyah (Zechariah) 14:9; 1st Thess 4:13-18; Rev 2:27

F. We believe in the current working of the Ruach HaKodesh, manifesting Biblical gifts that confirm Holy Scripture for this present time. Through the Ruach HaKodesh comes the knowledge of Yeshua, convicting humankind of their sin and their need for a personal Messiah. Yeshayahu 44:3; Yechezkiel 36:24-32; Acts 1:5-8, 2:1-39, 10:44-48; 1st Corinthians 12-14

G. We believe that the Messianic Jewish Movement is a prophetic and sovereign work of G-d, bringing our Jewish people to a personal faith that Yeshua is our Jewish Mashiach. In this movement, Gentiles are also being called to be part of the commonwealth of Yisrael. Ephesians 2:11-22. With Yeshua being our centrality, Torah respect and observance is not a legalism, nor is it a works for salvation, but a freedom for both Jew and Gentile, one in Messiah. By the working of love, faith and grace, Jews and Gentiles become stronger in their identity and grow in their Biblical Jewish root.

H. We believe that humankind was made in the image of G-d, but has fallen short of Hashem’s intended purpose. As a result, G-d has provided atonement for sin through the perfect sacrifice of His Son, His only Son, whom He loved. We believe that there will be a final judgment and those names written in the Book of Life will have eternal life. Those names not written in the Book of Life will forever be separated from the presence of G-d. There will be a judgment for the just and the unjust. B’resheet 22; Daniel 12:1-2; Yochanan 3:16, 5:21-30; Revelation 20:11-15

I. We believe in the second coming of the Mashiach, and that His return is imminent. “But when that day and hour will come, no one knows-not the angels in Heaven, not the Son, only the Father.” Daniel 12:1-13; Mattityahu 24:36-44

J. We believe in the process of discipline and conflict resolution taught in Matthew 18:15ff, as applicable to all congregants and leaders.
